Ever had anybody wake you up in the middle of a nap because you were snoring, a book in your hand? We'll make sure that never happens again; here are some books that you should avoid under ANY cost!
We have two books here which you should definitely avoid, according to us and our classmates (actually, one of the top voted was Harry Potter, but we suppose our classmates are somewhat biased. We won't be taking their opinions on that one). There are always more, though! Good sources of boring books to avoid are always your classmates. Believe us, if they have any of the same interests as you, they've probably picked up a bad book before that they haven't liked before. The five of us consult each other for book advice all the time. Ask your friends too! |
War and PeaceWar and Peace is an old classic. It was first published in 1869, and is by Count Leo Tolstoy. If you're into old, incredibly long books (War and Peace is over five thousand words long!), then this is your book. If not- then, well, avoid it!
War and Peace is definitely an epic. It's got long paragraphs, and complicated, olden-timey wording. Some names are hard to pronounce, as this takes place in 17th century Russia. Here's a text sample: "... He sent words about his memoradum to an old field marshal, a friend of his father's. The field marshal made an appointment to see him, received him graciously, and promised to lay the matter before the Emperor. A few days later Prince Andrei was notified that he was to present himself to the Minister of War, Count Arakcheyev..." -Count Leo Tolstoy, War and Peace |

Where the Red Fern GrowsWhere the Red Fern Grows is also a classic that was published in 1961. The author of this book is Wilson Rawls. It keeps going on and on about a boy who badly wants dogs that hunt. He finally gets them and everybody's happy, until the dogs die because of an incident. And this is told by the older version of the boy. How sad and boring is this? We even surveyed people in our class, and this was the majority of them said this was boring.
